NRA Headquarters visit.
So I went to the NRA headquarters today. It was nice to finally be able to check it out. The building was quite nice and the man at the front desk was very friendly and well dressed. As I walked through, the first thing I noticed was a fireplace and old intricate wood handguns. Every gun was distinctly unique and didn't look anything like what you would see today. They had weapons from past wars on display with articles all about them. It was very educational and appealing to see. There were all kinds of pistols made of wood, gold, and steel. They also had many guns on display that were used as props in famous Hollywood movies. My favorite gun that stood out was a revolver made of all gold. The way it shined was hypnotizing. I wanted to stare at it the whole time. It was gorgeous. The pistol reminded me of the Austin Powers "Gold Member" movie. I think I would have dumped my life savings on it if it were for sale but I doubt $32 would stretch that far. After wondering through the museum, I found my way into the souvenir shop. I loved all the corky little keychains, hats, shirts, and bumper stickers. I bought an NRA hat and will be rocking it out in town asap. My experience was a good one. I was very entertained with learning, and seeing all the bizarre guns. I cant wait to go back with some friends and shoot at their range! Yes! They have a range as well. I will be working on the video soon!
